Vision Statement
To make Jekyll Island a coastal haven for cultural discovery — where stories are shared, art is experienced, and creativity flows like the tide.
Rich in history and artistic spirit, Jekyll Island has long been a place where imagination finds its muse — from the writers who once wandered its oak-lined paths to the artisans who continue to capture its light and legacy. SEAJekyll – The Society for the Enrichment of the Arts exists to celebrate and nurture that creative energy, transforming the island into a year-round haven for culture, education, and community connection.
Through a full calendar of performances, festivals, heritage events, and educational programs, SEAJekyll invites locals and visitors alike to experience the island’s creative heart. From the laughter of summer music on the SEA Stage to the glamour of the Coastal Palette Food & Wine Festival, from the literary brilliance of Pulitzer, Pages & Palms to the family joy of Princesses, Pages & Pirates, every event blends artistry with authenticity — echoing the soul of this historic island.
SEAJekyll is also deeply committed to heritage preservation and the performing arts, keeping Jekyll’s living history alive through storytelling, theater, dance, and live music that bring the island’s past and present together. By supporting local talent, the society ensures that creativity continues to flourish — on the stage, on the page, and in the hearts of all who attend.
The Society’s youth programs will provide scholarships, mentorship, and exhibition opportunities for young artists and writers whose works celebrate Jekyll’s nature, history, and community. Through the Bill Hendrix Youth Arts Scholarship, SEAJekyll honors a cherished local artist whose devotion to teaching continues to inspire new generations of coastal creators.
And, of course, SEAJekyll’s commitment to the visual and literary arts remains strong — through pop-up exhibitions, juried shows, and publications like The Drift, Jekyll Island’s annual literary and arts magazine. These initiatives showcase the brilliance of local painters, writers, photographers, sculptors, and designers whose works reflect the island’s distinctive beauty and creative vitality.

As a nonprofit 501(c)(3), SEAJekyll depends on the generosity of volunteers, patrons, and business sponsors who believe in the transformative power of the arts. Their support funds scholarships, performances, and exhibitions that enrich the community and preserve Jekyll Island’s creative soul.
